The Garden House Nursery

The Garden House Nursery originally opened in 1989 providing exceptional childcare in Fulwood. Moving to its current premises in 1994, the nursery has gradually grown and we are now registered for 72 children.

Caring for Children's Individual Needs

We take great care to get to know our parents, carers and children individually to ensure that any requests or concerns are addressed quickly and everything runs smoothly and correctly.

Our rooms are based on Winnie the Pooh characters and we endeavour to provide a warm family atmosphere in a clean, bright and safe environment so children can feel secure and confident.

Highly-Qualified Staff

We benefit from highly qualified staff – 93% our of staff team are qualified in Child Care, 6 have BA HONS in Early Childhood studies, 3 with Early Years Teacher Status.

Welcoming & Friendly

We benefit from staff who speak many languages and Language groups feature weekly in our early years curriculum – this is based on the children we have attending.

MEET OUR MANAGER

Hi, I’m Stacey and I am the Acting Manager here at The Garden House Nursery. I have 15 years of experience working in Childcare. I started my journey by completing my Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education at The Sheffield College. I then worked in nurseries gaining experiences with different age groups, until I found the nursery for me at The Garden House. I have been here for nearly 13 years and progressed my way through the nursery starting off in the baby room, to Head of Room, Deputy Manager and then eventually Acting Manager. I am passionate on making sure all children develop and learn in a safe and nurturing environment, ensuring strong relationships with our children and their families, whilst also supporting the fantastic staff team to be able to implement this in their practice.

Qualified and Experience Staff

All of the Garden House team are experienced, well qualified and committed individuals handpicked for their caring and compassionate nature. The nursery has it’s own experienced housekeeper who pays particular attention to food safety and to the importance of meeting children’s special dietary requirements. All employed staff undergo a rigorous interview

Learn, Explore and Grow

Each of our rooms at the Garden House nursery are developed in line with learning needs at every age. Children engage in outdoor play every day and enjoy the opportunity for fresh air and exercise in one of our five outdoor areas. We provide a range of toys, activities and areas to explore to ensure the children remain motivated and most of all have lots of fun through learning and play.

Parent Inclusive Culture

We firmly believe in working together with parents at the Garden House nursery to ensure childcare is exclusively tailored to individual children’s needs. We are committed to daily updates on each child’s development and welcome parents feedback at all times. Our parents, carers and children individually to ensure that any requests or concerns are addressed.

We are open 51 weeks of the year from 7.45am to 6.15pm to ensure that your childcare needs are covered whenever you need it. For half days, our session changeover time is 1pm. We are closed on bank holidays and the week between Christmas and New year. At the Garden House we offer a bright and safe environment so children can feel secure and confident with a quality daycare .

THE OUTDOORS & COMMUNITY

We have 5 lovely outdoor areas and free access to a gorgeous woodland area where the children benefit from ‘woodland’ sessions. The nursery is well established (over 30 years!) within the local community and comes highly recommended by all.
